Last night I went for the 1st held dream centre's Leaders' Meeting. The drive there was tiring and a drag. What could have took me 20 minutes to reach and leaving me with loads of time to tour DC on my own before the meeting... well was not meant to be. The drive took me 1 hour! Oh well, I will bear in mind to take my normal route to DSP to get to DC in the future.
Anyway, despite all the stress of getting caught in the traffic and from the thought of being late for my very first Leaders' Meeting, was quickly overcome by the sense of awe and amazing-ness (if there's such a word). Hall 1... that was where the meeting was held. I didn't know the exact location, and so, I follow people lor.... thank God there were others who were late =p
Pastor Chris asked us to write down the blessings which we have received on 2nd September 2007 during the opening of DC.... these are some of mine :-
1. Meeting up and opportunity to worship and celebrate with an old friend and of course with other members of DUMC.
2. Able to experience Pastor Chris's worship leading again (after his "resignation" from worship ministry many years ago). He's a very gifted worship leader.
3. Able to experience Pastor D's annointed preaching... I personally believe that this is one of his more (wanted to say most.... but I believe there will be more annointed sermons to come =D) annointed and God-inspired sermon. He totally glowed with God's glory as he preached. Serious...... am not trying to polish him after my comment on.... ahem.... you know the orchestra pit thingy =*)
4. The throngs of people in church.... amazing crowd.
5. This is the ultimate blessing which drove many to tears (including me)... the realisation of the Dream Centre. After many years of delibration.... mine started after my pledge towards the building fund during DUMC's anniversary celebration in 2005. I pledged to pay over a period of 3 years.... and to find out a few months later, we have been asked to, if possible, to pay off within a few months. Miraculously, I managed to pay off my pledge beginning last year before I went to Israel. And yar.... it's so amazing to see how the whole church unites and came up with the money for the purchase price of the property... and then the renovation costs (of course there was a loan... but bulk of it was contributed by the church).
Yup... I am so glad that I am actually in the thick of all of these... what I call God's movement.... God's gift... God's blessing.
And yes.... 2nd September 2007 was not only significant because it is the opening of DC... but it was also DUMC's Anniversary Gift Weekend (AGW). Our target is RM2.25 million.... we managed to collect.... drum roll please..... a whooping RM2.35 million!!!! ALL GLORY AND PRAISE TO GOD!
Sigh.... isn't God amazing or isn't He amazing? Indeed He is.
