Corporate World

I have always dreamed of climbing the corporate ladder of an MNC... Meetings with CEOs or some high profile people. Making big time decisions etc. I am kind of working towards that dream now...

I dreamed of working in a team. You see, I have always worked alone. Practising lawyers always seem to work alone. It's dog eat dog world... kind of. So, I have this grand vision that if I ever get to work in an MNC... I will definitely need to work in a team... I mean really... meetings with colleagues and we start thrashing out ideas etc... sounds so cool.

Yup... teamwork... sounds sweet...

I planned to wear my power business suits everyday to live up to the corporate image...

Hahaha... however my grand vision did not really materialise.

It's business casual in my current office... imagine me with the backpack etc

And I am climbing the corporate ladder alone...yar... I know... a ladder can only take one at a time =((

I am still not working in a team... am working alone. Making mistakes alone. Learning alone. Making decision alone. NO TEAMWORK... kind of worse than I was practising because I always had a few people working under me and I guess as I look
back now... I had always worked in a team... and I was too blinded by my corporate grandeur vision to notice it.

Sigh... I thought that it would be different with my new colleague but I am wrong... now I kind of understand what someone tried to tell me before... there can only be one person reaching the top of the corporate ladder. And in order for one to reach there, there will be loads whom that person have stepped on and hurt. I wonder why corporate world is so cruel. Am I... have I... I mean... am I being naive to think that there's such thing as teamwork and working together towards reaching the top of the ladder?

Sigh... I guess corporate world is just not my cup of tea after all. I was... a minute ago all geared up to fight and retaliate... and join the fight to reach the top of the leader. But now... I am wondering if it is worth it. Dog eat dog world...
Anyway, I still have another day to think of what I am to do next. To fight for a piece of the cake or to just give in and be satisfied with the crumbs that have fallen under the table. Life at corporate world sucks...
