Bummer... Choo choo train

I had this thought in mind this morning when I was doing my quiet time. So, I thought I better jot it down before I get started on my work (and I envisage that I will be getting a "lecture" session from my boss later =(( sigh... my life story).

I somehow think my daily routine is like hopping on and off different trains. I also figured, as I compared myself now to the time I was introduced into this world... I only board one train throughout my innocent life so to speak. I mean, when I was a baby till probably, I don't know... start of higher secondary school? Somewhere there because for me that's when life starts to take a dramatic turn i.e. when extra-curricular activities starts to be of real importance in building up my wonderfully written curriculum vitae (for Graduate Certificate... graduating from high school). Yup... for me, life turned complicated from Form 4 onwards. I started to pump in extra hours to build my resume, so to speak. And in today's terms... that's the start of putting on different hats/caps for different occassions... it's a start of boarding different trains throughout the day. Let me illustrate :-

infant - Form 3 (throughout 24 x 7)
1. Morning - boarded train and destination - nothing specific but everything is full of adventure, new, challenging and fun

Form 4 - Form 5 (Monday to Friday or non-holiday)
1. Morning : boarded train and destination - school
2. Afternoon : boarded another train and destination - club/society activities
3. Late Afternoon : boarded another train and destination - tuition class or sometimes music classes (and fridays - youth fellowship meeting)
4. Evening : boarded another train and destination - family

College - University (Monday to Friday or non-holiday)
1. Morning : boarded train and destination - lectures and tutorials in college/uni
2. Afternoon: boarded train and destination - library (yes... trust me it is a different train)
3. Late Afternoon : boarded train and destination - personal time (namely siesta)
4. Evening : boarded train and destination - communion with other mates
5. Night : boarded train and destination - personal time again

First year working till now (Monday to Friday or working days)
1. Morning : train destination - workplace and meetings etc
2. Lunch time (1 hour) : train destination - communion with colleagues/friends
3. After lunch time : train destination - workplace and meetings etc
4. Late evening (sometimes) : train destination - church
5. Night : train destination - personal time

That's how I see my life journey - hopping on and off trains throughout the day. Why? Because whatever train that I hop off... that particular train will still be chugging along. It will not stop just because I have hopped off. As the saying goes... Time and tide will wait for no man (or woman).
